The world we live in is changing and we have to protect ourselves from the criminals and scammers out there. The Paw Palace understands that many people have become victims of fraud from these scammers so here is a little information to help you avoid these type of situations.

1. Pet scammers often use free websites, Craig’s List, local newspapers, or Facebook to advertise pets that do not exist.

2. Expensive animals, like Bulldogs or toy breeds, are offered at very low prices.

3. Animals that are offered up for adoption at no cost and say all you have to do is pay for the shipping. If you see an ad like this, chances are it is a scam.

Scammers are criminals! Their goal is to take your money and they will do anything to get it! They use the names of legitimate pet shippers; they pirate websites; they illegally use logos of other companies. If you see an offer that is too good to be true, it probably is. It probably is a scam!

Here are a few more things to watch out for when you are dealing with breeders that may be fraudulent:

• They say they are giving the animal up because of a family hardship, relocation, death of the person who owned the pets, the climate is not good, etc.
• Use a free Gmail, Yahoo, or similar address.
• Call the pets their “babies” and insist that they only want a loving, forever home. They may send you a list of questions about how you will take care of the pet, if you’ve had a pet before, etc.
• Say they will use a “courier” or “pet delivery service” but not tell you the name of the “courier”
• Offer the pet in one location—close to you—and then tell you that because of some situation, the animals or they are somewhere else where you cannot see them or pick them up.
• Want payment by Western Union, MoneyGram, or a similar service. They might tell you to lie to the Western Union agent, saying you are sending the money to a family member rather than buying something.
• Offer to ship from an international location to your doorstep for $250 or $350. (Generally it costs more to ship a puppy internationally than it does for a person to fly; and there are other expenses—kennels, veterinarian, etc. You can NEVER expect to pay only $250-$350 for an international shipment!)
• Tell you they want to ship the pet within 24 hours of payment. (This is impossible due to the time required to obtain import license and veterinary health certificates!)
• Use different company names or variations of the same company name in the text of their message.
• Tell you that their books are being audited; the head office is moving, or something similar.
• Tell you to send the payment to a different office – usually, but not always, in Cameroon.
• Once you have sent payment for the shipping, there will be a problem: the pet needs a different kind a crate; needs a health inspection; needs insurance; etc., for an additional fee. If you don’t pay right away, they add charges for additional feeding, threaten you with legal charges for animal abandonment, etc.
• Not include a telephone number in their email; not be available when you call. (If the country code for the phone is 237, it is a scam!)
• Use the name and website address of a legitimate pet shipper in their email.

Always do your research before you ever do anything online! Hope this will help you on your search for a new pet.

At Paw Palace Puppies, we make it easy to bring home your new puppy with our hassle-free, interest-free payment plan. Our quick pre-approval process requires no credit check and is available exclusively to Arizona residents aged 18 or older. In accordance with A.R.S. § 1-215(22), applicants must be at least 18 years old to legally enter into a binding contract. To apply, simply complete our online application with basic information including your name, address, employment details, income verification, and proof of residence. Once submitted, a team member will contact you by phone or text within 24 hours during our business hours (Wednesday to Sunday, 11 AM – 6 PM) to let you know if you’ve been approved and help you move forward with your puppy purchase.

Interest-Free Payment Plan – Terms and Conditions

Paw Palace Puppies

By participating in Paw Palace Puppies’ Interest-Free Payment Plan, you agree to the following terms:

 

  1. Deposit Requirement
    A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total purchase price is required to reserve a puppy. This deposit will be applied toward the final purchase amount.

  2. Remaining Balance
    The remaining balance is divided into equal monthly payments, not to exceed a total term of six (6) months from the date of deposit.

  3. Payment Method
    All installment payments must be made via automatic credit card deduction using the card provided during the application process.

  4. No Credit Check
    This payment plan does not require a credit check. Pre-approval is based on employment verification, income documentation, and proof of Arizona residency.

  5. Age & Residency Requirement
    Applicants must be 18 years of age or older (per A.R.S. § 1-215(22)) and reside in the state of Arizona to qualify.

  6. Grace Period & Late Fees
    Each monthly payment includes a 10-day grace period. A $25 late fee will be applied to any payment not received within this grace period.

  7. Default
    Accounts past due by more than 30 days will be considered in default. In such cases, Paw Palace Puppies reserves the right to pursue legal collections, and the Buyer may be responsible for any associated legal and administrative costs.

  8. Ownership Transfer
    Ownership of the puppy, including any registration or documentation, will not be transferred until the purchase is paid in full.

  9. Refund Policy
    All payments, including the deposit and any installments made, are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed to in writing by Paw Palace Puppies.

  10. Early Payoff Option
    Buyers may pay off the remaining balance at any time without penalty.
